The only thing i HATE on facebook is the million of applications that there are. some ppl's profiles have more crap than real info.
Other than that its hella fun to stalk people.

my point with "damn facebook" (...and myspace...msn...*your choice here*...) is that, like intererwebs and even forum like this, is closing people into their house and themselves. a lot of them is pretending to be someone else even here, because they don't want to face the reality of a middle-range life, they don't want to talk directly with people because they fear/know they would say just stupid things. they say stupid things even here but who cares? no one is going to recognize me. Then others are just saying no senses and bs because, being this a forum, there aren't consequences to their words, it's a "free zone". but what's the point of all of that? are we becoming better people with all the crap we are saying?
it seems impossible nowadays to talk or meet people without internet...come on, I like the fact that right now I can talk with some of you from different countries, so people that probably I wouldn't know without this forum, knowing different points of view of people with different attitudes and cultures, but this good side of the medal is often destroyed by the other wrong side.
It's simply ridiculous when a guy and a girl who already know each others since 9 years, "fall in love" on facebook when they live at a couple of miles from they respective houses, and they meet each others everyday at University or in downtown...if you have the impression that this is a particular real fact, your guestimation is right.

its evolution, for better or worse this is what the human spicies is evolving to.
our thumbs are becoming flat from playing on the playstation all day and our minds are turning into jello from all the tv and pc games crap.
But I dont know, I love facebook. If only as a time waste tool, but I also like to read updates on things friends and reletives do and see pictures from events and so on. It a way of staying in touch with certain people that I wouldnt have stayed in touch with otherwise and its better then just losing all connection with them.
I am easily satisfied with the very best.

if is a way of be in touch with people far from your home, yes, I can see its point and it's even a good one, it's a problem to be involved with what your friends do if they are 9.500 km away from you... but so many of fb's users have the whole friend lists located in their own town, and that is my point.
I don't use it and I don't mind if people use it. what I can't stand is, once again, the fuzz all around it and the way some of the users are looking at it as a fundamental part of their lifes. go out bastards and make your own life!!!

Dawg your mom's probably on facebook. Wouter joining it is nothing special :P, like everyone has it...
And speaking about keeping people in, lifestyle in north america is very different from europe. Europeans love going out but in Canada (Ontario at least, Montreal seemed like people didn't wanna go inside) it's like pulling nails to get a group of people to go out to just hang out.

True. There's so much clutter! And all my friends send me stuff too! I okay a couple of things, but there's only so much I can take.
You do make a good point, but it's still a simple way to contact everyone once in a while. It is certainly not the best though.
It really is nice to put pictures up so everyone can see them. And since most of my friends will scatter once we go to college, it'll be an easier way to talk to them too.
