    In Progress* NISMO 380RS Competition

For this one I am combining Tamiya's NISMO Fairlady Z and their JGTC Z kits.

I'm making something close to the 380RS Competition shown at the 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon. It will have a full race interior and similar graphics to the real car.

So far I have chopped up a SAS Skyline resin hood and dissected the vents into four sections. Marked lines on the hood and cut holes for the vents. I also filled the stock fuel door and drilled a hole for a dry break fitting. The 'B' pillar has been removed and the rear side window opening adjusted to accept the blank window panel from the race Z kit. The side view mirror mounting panels have also been removed and the locating holes drilled for the race mirrors.

Interior is assembled and some decals have been placed.

    Mr Dino Scudera:

You are doing an awesome job. Well done. Where do you get the time and patience to do something as delicate and as surgical as buidling those models? I am impressed. i could never muster such patience.

    Thanks!

It's a hobby I have been involved in my whole life, I'm 49 this year.

My friends in the hobby and I have developed techniques which are time saving and we use our respective 'systems' on every build. Still have to be in the mood to immerse into a build...and when I am I do a little in the evenings during the week and I can be productive while watching a football game or race on the weekend as my workbench is complete with TV's.

    BTW, I finished this one:
