About the mileage, it should get 6lt/100km (don't ask me for the conversion right now...) but it will probably get 7lt/100km or more With the gas tank almost full the range is something like 650kms... including a trip on a highway.
With 80hp your Mini will probably fly from what displacement?
from 1.3L, and i also get 6L/100km.. look at it this way; you have the same power, but a much bigger and more comfortable car, and manage to get the same or better mileage progress!

... and yes, the grip is fenomenal, you have to drive like a retardet idiot in order to get something wrong.

This friend of mine who owns the r56 (and had an r53) is a member of one of the countless Italian Mini Forums. A member of the forum own an old Mini (dunno the year) and has added the r53 compressor to the engine. Now, with the fuel tank full, he manages 100km dunno about performance, I'll ask my friend...

lol i hope that's not with the twin tanks fitted i'm getting ~300km out of a 20L tank. the mileage is useful but i seem to refuel a lot (admittedly refueling doesn't take much)

I know what you mean, due to a poor company car list i was forced into having a Astra SRi 1.9tdci with a sports pack.

Love it now. But never in a million years did i think i would become a Astra driver.

i spent a week in a very similar car - photo from my test, but it was a 1,3 CDTI. the car is really good - looks nice, rides very good both in city and on highways, has very good suspension and gearbox. but shame about the power, even that diesel was slow so i'm afraid 80 bhp must be irritating sometimes

As you said, not many of us would turn around to get a better look of an Opel Corsa. On the other hand, yours is very good looking (rims and color). Way better than a Polo

    Congratulations!

Have fun with it, as much as you can!

Thanks! Especially if you think that, when I decided to get a new car, the Citroen C1 was one of the first car I got a look to

I found the last gen Astra interesting... I suppose it is a 5drs... isn't it? If so, I prefer the 3drs but anyway, still a great car...

Yes it is... sometimes... how about the engine? Did it have 75 or 90 bhp?

Thanks! But you didn't choose a strong competitor... it's not that hard to find a better looking car than the Polo

Sorry, not too many Srt-4 round here
Anyway, my Corsa haven't got such a sporty engine, so in the end I don't care if I lose some tenth of second (or seconds...) when accelerating. In a head-to-head acceleration with a C1 I would lose even if I had 14" rims...
