I need assistance from all petrolheads on this forum

I can buy this copy of a Broadspeed Jaguar Coupe for a very good price in South Africa. This car was'nt raced much but is in good overall condition and with a few minor thingeys,is ready to race. I used to do racing here a long time ago and now i feel it is time to get "back on track"

But now, this is where i need some guidance from you guys. I got a Merc 108 for free from a very friendly farmer in SA. I am playing with the idea of converting this 108 into a racecar and into a copy of the 109 AMG 6,3l as in the pictures. I can lay my hands on a donor car thats knackered in a rear end smash and can do a transplant of the whole drive train as well as convert the car into a racer for cheaper than the Broadspeed Jaguar. Which will be the most acceptable as a racecar?? Remember classic racers in SA are very scarce and there is quite a few copies around.Luckily most of all the original racecars are still in the country and i think it is because of the intervenience of a chosen few of collectors that kept them from the hands of the exporters. That is also a new thread coming up sometime!!!!
Here's some pix of what i have in mind.........

Is the Jag original, if so you should consider it. If its a clone, maybe not

"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

Hmm.. I can't say I know much about the racing characteristics of either.
If you were planning on using the Merc as your daily driver you would have to get another car on top of modification costs.

I will keep it as a classic and turn it into a showpiece, also very scarce in SA. This car is so complete and only needs some TLC

Because you'd be saving two cars instead of one, I'd consider the Jag.

Though of course money may be an issue, but it matters not.

Well you said you had fond memories of the Merc, and you searched specifically for a 250SE, so I'd keep the Merc as is.

Then if you want to race and can afford it, go for the Jag.
