Never let the facts get in the way of a bad argument point.

As for F1 Dropping Montreal; unless you are completely willing to pledge allegiance to the Ecclestone & build a track with world class facilities in the middle of the desert where only the rich & elite can enjoy your sport, then yeah, They'll take it elsewhere.

I seriously stopped caring about F1 about 3 years ago.

19 April: Desert Hell Hole, Bahrain
    10 May: Pingpong, North Korea
24 May: Sultan's private racing track, Brunei (No spectators will be allowed except for the Sultan himself.)
7 June: Borat International Racing Course, Kazakhstan
21 June: Mogadishu Bomb-Cratered Street Circuit, Somalia (Warlords have ruled attendance will be mandatory.)
28 June: Death To All Infidels Racing Circuit, Saudi Arabia
26 July: Harare, Zimbabwe (Ticket Price: $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Zimbabwean Dollars.)
23 August: Medellin, Columbia (Sponsored by the CIA-Coccaine Importers of America.)
30 August: Billionaire Oligarch Grand Prix, Moscow, Russia
13 September: Sahara Desert Circuit, Libya

I find that last post slightly offensive, even if there is some truth to it...

It's not offensive; it's just not funny at all.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

I'd call Montreal a psuedo street circuit, since the road is not actually open to public like a real street circuit....same as Albert Park....

It's not a purpose built racing track though.

I'd call this a psuedo comparison since the Albert Park circuit IS a public road ... same as Mt Panorama, Bathurst (which btw is on this weekend)

Is it road in the sense that its actually a generally well used route for the traffic, or is it a perimeter road for a park for people to drive around(or bike around) at their leisure? Thats pretty much what Montreal's track is...

I still don't like to call those kind of tracks "street circuit", its like calling Circuit de la Sarthe a street circuit......

As I believe Clarkcon said, "Oh look, that's my foot, why don't I shoot it?"
Wouter, that article was a great read and had some great pics, thanks.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"

Sadly, it sort of is. Its in the middle of a park, were it not for the F1 race, most of the track would not have been laid out, these roads serve no other purpose.

    pitpass - the latest, hottest F1, GP2, GP2 Asia & A1GP news

So, now that GPC has clarified the situation about the allegedly "missing" payments from 2006 and 2007 editions, Bernie's plan becomes clearer. It is all a smokescreen to squeeze more money out the negotiations with the Canadian government (which might take on the organization of the GP in years to come).

    What a deusch!!!!

Something tells me Bernie will get involved in a non-accidental "accident" pretty soon.
    Reginald *IB4R* says:
it was a beautiful 35 seconds.
    David says:
    that's what she said

Will he be given a drive-thru or a stop-and-go penalty?
