Lower it. Headers back will net way more gains than CAI + software.

Cheers guys, I wasn't too sure anyone would remember me

If I keep the car I will definitely lower it somewhat as it's sitting stratospherically high right now. Price and performance wise I'm not sure headers will give me that much though as the 3V seems to respond well to a simple CAI. Long tubes are a bit expensive - barring the OBX off of Ebay - and will net me an only 10-20 gain because I'm not running FI. Plus, I don't have access to a cherry picker which adds to the cost. Of course, I could always just slap on the SC but I'm not really willing to go that way. It's just a Mustang after all. A tuner and CAI combo, however, is $600-700 shipped, bolts on easily, and gains with a 91-93 tune are reportedly in the 15-25 region. I'm not keen on doing the 4.10 gear swap myself though so for that I'll gladly pay a local shop.

And yes, it's a GT. No point in getting a Mustang if it ain't got a V8 I say. To be honest I didn't quite expect I'd end up with that one when I got here. I had a list of cars I was considering so I toured the local dealerships a bit:

The Mustang coupe was a letdown, but the vert obviously felt just right. The Corvette I didn't fit comfortably in which was a bit surprising. The Z4M I definitely didn't fit in which OTOH wasn't surprising at all. The E46 M3 was a wee bit too uncomfortable on long trips but I still loved it. The E92 M3 overall was great, but the cheaper 135i coupe was the real eye opener. Audi never quite did it for me but the RS4 was okay I suppose. The Cayman didn't appeal to me as much as I had hoped, and the Boxter, well, I think it's a bit of a hairdresser's car really. The Charger SRT8 surprised me a lot, and it was on my list for quite a while. In the end I just went with the convertible Mustang. It's a cheap, simple car but it's just so much good fun - and that's what I love about it.

I relocated because I got offered a position here. And yes, I have to admit that I did enjoy leaving Denmark behind along with the 180% tax on new cars. About the financial crisis I'm not too concerned to be honest. I'm pretty well covered - no debt or high risk investments - and I don't believe the market will go as bad as some may fear. You still see Warren Buffet buying up cheap stock left and right. The upside to a bad market is of course that all the dealerships really want to get rid of their high priced inventory. The last time I checked the local BMW place had on their lot a few E91 M3s that they were willing to let go for quite a bit under MSRP.

180% tax on cars....thats completely ridiculous. Looks like you moved at the right time for buying cars..must be pretty refreshing not having that amount of tax and ofcourse those markdowns.

Blimey, what work do you do? Is the 'stang new? That's quite a variety of cars there, the M3 would probably have been my choice and the Mustang business if quite interesting, I'd have thought the coupe would have been better, fixed roof rigidity and all...

Congrats on your relocation. NC is a really nice place. I recently visited my best friend who lives in Morehead. And congrats on the GT. Let me know if you have any questions on bumping up her performance a bit. I've got a thing or two done to my 05 GT.
