Considering what happened, I would say you got off very lightly...

Over here you'd be facing 750 € fine or arrest up to 30 days. And your licence can be suspended up to a year.

60 km/h over the limit is an immediate suspension of the license here.

Edit: There is also no excuse for doing 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

You were really lucky to get away with just 100 euros. Be careful with that.
    Was it Chrysler, BTW?

ok, another thing is probably the sings are put much more intelligently in your area. here it was FOUR lane (merging two two-lanes on about 2 kilometres distance) and it was completely empty. i was doing about 80 which i thought is ok, and then just put some more gas to let the power free. it was just a case of seconds until the policeman ran in the middle of the street... :s

oh, and the power steering pump got broken aside from that

yesterday I was in an empty road, two lanes, speed limit was 50 km/h, and the car was as straight as the highway on the left. I was behind a local police car, doing 90/100 km/h (supposedly, we both lost our licenses)

But that, as everyone knows, it's impossible in Italy.

That background looks rather similar to what we have here in some places. Second shot is great...
