go into user CP (control panel, not child porn). access it through the button on the top left of the page. you'll figure it out from there

Touge bores the crap out of me but so does hill climbs, supersprints and rally, anything against a stopwatch were there is no racing or racecraft shown bores me to tears.

hill climbs can be scary, being 3 inches from the trees and the like.

and yet, generally, look how poorly race drivers are at trying these events
DIfferent kind of "craft".
Racing adds overtaking, but the driver gets many MANY chances to get a corner right, change gear at the best time, brake at the last moment and finesse the laps.
The rest get ONE chance to get it right. ANd getting it wrong doesn't offer lots of gravel or run-off areas. Most of the time it hurts

matra do you do a lot of hillclimbs? seems like the sort of track that'd be popular over there (for the same reasons the ones here get so much use)

Whats the problem?? I said watching hillclimbs etc bores me..... where did I say that circuit guys are faster or better than hilclimbers etc
If someone can drive a car fast they will be fast everywhere no matter what format if you have good car control and big enough balls it doesnt matter if its circuit, sprint, hillclimb, etc fast guys will be fast anywhere.
Definetley would be scary, thats why I wont do it I'll stick to as Matra says lots of run off and sandtraps and leave the other stuff to the real menhill climbs can be scary, being 3 inches from the trees and the like.

i'm not going back to hillclimbs til i can race a car that isn't as wide as the track

Sorry was just pointing otu that the skill that we watch for is higher and more focussed. Guess it depends on what you watch motorposrt for. The NASCAR bunching/overtaking and crashes or the driver/vehicle skills.
No. Race drivers are fast because they can "tune in" to the fastest lap.If someone can drive a car fast they will be fast everywhere no matter what format
They go through the same corner 15-30 times at club racing level. So being able to remember and compare positioning is key. Add to that draughting, timing overtake and defending overtake and you have a skill set that fits track well and doesn't come anywhere near the needs of a rally driver for example.
"fast" yes .. .competitive definately NO guarantee.if you have good car control and big enough balls it doesnt matter if its circuit, sprint, hillclimb, etc fast guys will be fast anywhere.
As I said, look how few manage to make the transition

YouTube - Touge battle Skyline GTR vs rx7
classic touge for u guys to look at. it isnt based on hill climbs only. enjoy...
MITSUBISHI EVO VII OR IX...
-> I prefer Japanese Touge than Circuit Racing. I would think that Touge is more thrilling and fun than on traditional Circuit Track. Why? Every car has a chance on a Togue track, especially with proper tuning and modifications. There's not much pure straight-aways that many super-powerful, super-fast super/hyper cars that will keep you staying at the back of the pack while driving a highly respectable car like the new 370Z. It would be pretty embarrasing for a moderately tuned Forester 2.5XT to be able to keep up with a 430 Scuderia.
^ Wow, everthing that you hate are the ones that I love...
- I listen to JPop and Anime OSTs.
- I watch Anime.
- I read Manga.
- I draw them too.
- I think drifting is a method of exhibiting drivers skill.
- I drive a Honda. (S2000)
- And I'm not Japanese, I'm a Filipino.
...well I guess its a matter of personal preference.

I am also a Filipino and I don't like touge...
For some car enthusiast, tuning too much only ruins a car.
So, a tuned Subaru or Nissan may be able to keep up or pass the performance of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia, but trust me, it's nowhere near as exciting to drive...
In a car, you just don't look at it's performance, if you drive cars like Alfa Romeo, you look at its shape, listen to the sound it makes, nd you wouldn't care if it's not one of the fastest cars in the world. All you would only care about is the way and how it feels to drive it.

BTW... tuning a car is not bad... It's only when you exceed an amount of tuning is when you really ruin the car...

I like the touge races because they have that extra bit of excitement about them. You're racing on a public road for one, and generally there's more changes in elevation too. Also since is a nose to tail race, and no 'laps' one mistake could be the match.
Also circuit races that go round and round can get boring to watch.
Damn all those videos games have shortened my attention span...
