how do you mean? usually they're larger compared to supercars - taller (but not wider i guess), bigger cabin, etc etc

Well. It's a V6 for a start. And it was designed with current regulations in mind. And comfort requirements since it's a more upmarket car. The older Silvia didn't have such constraints, or at least not the Z's extent.

The problem with the 350Z's weight is the SUV/crossover/large sedan chassis they started with.
But hey, you want fast, you want it tech-laden, and you want it cheap, but there's no free lunch. If you don't want $300,000 carbon-fiber GT-Rs, you'll need to suck it up and accept it.

isn't the 350z chassis much stiffer then the s15? could that be where weight goes?
