    My Lotus Esprit Turbo

Hi, I'm new here. These are pics of my car, a 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo (40th Anniversary Commerorative Edition #67 of 88)

I've already included the Egg Nog for those who would probably ask for it.

I dont know much about everyone elses cars on this website, but from what i do know i gotta say you've probably got one of the nicest/fastest cars on here. I AM JELOUS!

that lotus looks great, really clean. what are the specs on it? (i gotta see if its faster than my car! haha) how many miles? if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Nice car, and in very good condition too.

I think all of us dreamed at least one time in our life to own an Esprit.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

I really don't know if it's the fastest car here (I doubt it though), but it is really fast. Here are the specs for the car:

    ENGINE
    Transverse, mid, rear-wheel drive

Head/ block al. alloy/al alloy. 4 cylinders in line.

    Bore 95.3mm, stroke 76.2mm,

    capacity 2174cc.

Valve gear 2ohc. 4 valves per cylinder.

    Compression ratio 80 to 1.

    Electronic breakerless ignition.

Bosch K Jetronic Multi-port fuel injection.

    Garrett T3 turbocharger.

    boost pressure 9.5psi (0.67bar).

    Max power 228 bhp (PS-DIN) (160kW ISO) at 6000rpm.

    Max torque 220 lb/ft (298 Nm) at 4250rpm.

    DIMENSIONS

    Weight: 1176 kg (2,592.6 pounds)

    Length: 4330 mm (170.5 inches)

    Width: 1860 mm (73.2 inches)

    Height: 1150 mm (45.7 inches)

    PERFORMANCE

Maximum Speed: 153.5 mph (247 kpm)

    Acceleration: 0 - 60 mph, 5.4 Seconds

    Standing quarter mile: 13.7secs, 103mph

    standing KM: 25.0secs, 129mph

It's got 19,000 miles on the odometer and I paid under $20,000 USD for it. The previous owner took really good care of this car and even had all the service and maintenance records available. I'm looking to buy an Esprit V8 sometime in the future....maybe.

Great value for money IMO, I love Esprits, shame they stopped making it rather than just releasing a new one.

sounds pretty sweet, im surprised it can get to 60 that fast considering it only has 215 horsepower and the s4s did it in just under 5 seconds it must be lighter. but yeah, probably not the fastest, but definitely one of the most unique and classy.

i've always been a sucker for esprit's though and considering that people pay 20 grand for a civic si id say you got a hell of a deal!

    Thanks again everyone!

If I purchased a 1989 model SE, it would have 280 bhp due to the added chargecooler, something that I somewhat regret but all in all, I really love my car (a gift from my wife).

I normally drive my wife's Honda Civic (the back of it can be seen in the 7th pic) or my company vehicle. The Esprit is my weekend get-away car.
