IndyCar Series: Helio's seat given to Aussie Will Power

Will Power will join Team Penske's program for preseason testing with the balance of the season dependant on Helio Castroneves' court case outcome.

Will Power won the final Champ Car race, the 2008 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach with KV Racing. He won three Champ Car races.

Should Comcast, which is buying NBC, have more motorsports coverage on VERSUS and now NBC? Does North America need a racing tv channel? Find the answer to that exact question on facebook.

Maybe Helio shouldn't have committed tax evasion

Its good for Power to get some recognition in the US away from that mole Gore. Too bad with the economy and everything the opportunity's arised like this.

Has Craig Gore left KV Racing/Team Australia?

Welcome to the Team Australia website

Did the opportunity to get Helio's seat not arise because of Helio's troubles with the court dates?

The website quotes Gore as saying so long as there was the Surfers Paradise round he'd try and keep Team Australia together, but obvioiusly Surfers is off and Will Power's found himself another seat so you have to assume the whole thing's fell apart. Gore was probably looking for an excuse to get out though. His core business is in the financial and property sector which wouldve been hit pretty hard first by the subprime mortgage crisis and then by the economic downturn. His record doesnt speak too well for himself either. His past in V8 Supercars includes various controversies and there was also his split with Derrick Walker

    ^^

Indeed. I think Craig Gore comes under the classification of Highly Dubious and am amazed that anyone would risk their savings with him. In the past I have wondered if he might be any relation to Mike Gore, that 1980s crook and member of Queensland's infamous 'White Shoe Brigade' who btw had close links to Australia's most notoriously corrupt politician Joe Bjelke Petersen. Well in fact they are father and son!

A quick search also revealed this interesting little expose on Gore jr, along with the close relationship between BOTH of the Gores and good old Tony Cochrane

Maybe a tad OT but for Aussies it might prove interesting reading: > The Gore Files <
