that's what I'm on now but Dad wants to put me on my own policy so I can earn some no claims, hence the need for a cheaper-to-insure car, also means, on my own policy, i can drive our other cars on 3rd party

ETA: I think I'd be laughed off the planet

Ooooh I wish, but something tells me I shouldn't believe it...

    Cheap-to-run 'Interesting' car Needed

I think you have a problem here.

An interesting car is normally not cheap to run, and a cheap to run car is normally not interesting. But I may be wrong, and before you decide check my signature......

Yeah, had that issue in my cousins Z4, until she lowered the roof, then I had a billion miles of headroom but all I could see was the metal and rubberseals along the top of the windscreen

By 'interesting' I was thinking more along the lines of what not too many students go for

I bought a Mercedes because not many students go for them.
And for other reasons, of course.

Although, I'm not sure what insurance group something like a 190E or 300E/D would fit under...

Then that's not nteresting, you just want to be different.

    I suggest a CityRover...

As we don't seem to get anywhere, there's some thinking outside the box needed.

    You need two cars.

One cheap to run and one interesting.

I was going to suggest a proper 2CV. Back to the "manual" driving experience.
