Alpina is back in racing, after a 20 year hiatus. This will race in edurance racing in the GT3 class. Like the road car it has a 4.4 litre supercharged V8 with about 530bhp, and it weights 1350kg.

Visca Catalunya!
The race version looks even worse than the street version....tough to do.
I like it. I think the 6 Series has made the conversion to racecar quite well.

The 6-series has already been a racecar and the former one run in Grand-Am last year was better looking than this if memory serves (This one is hideous in my eyes).
Hold on... Here it is, Automatic Racing's entry last year attached below. I think this was mentioned on UCP before.
The Sixer seems way too big to be a racer.
Cruiser yes, racer no.
It just kinda looks bloated.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
looks angry, must've seen a mirror...
uhm...it reminds me of the old 3.0 CSL, especially the front end.
ugly, quite yes, even if it's not its purpose to be good looking.
What I doubt is if it will be competitive enough, consider it's quite big and heavy as the base car, and that's going to face cars like the F430 Challenge, 997 GT3 Cup, Fordt GT, Viper Competition and so on.
oh wait, and the road car ig going to be replaced very soon.
perhaps it will be just a less-official maneuver by BMW to enter, in a couple of years, GT3 or GT2 directly.

That's because the car works better in rap video's than anything else....when BMW gets off track they suck on track so to speak.
Bigger pics.
