Well, to be honest, it's not very class competitive.

They may have to do a Very early facelift.

I've seen plenty, and I personally think that the car itself is fine, if not class leading.

EDIT Also, what Pieter reports makes much, much more sense.

Seems both an illogical and tactically poor move on Renault's part to (pre)announce, so far in advance, the probable future demise of such a recent model. This can hardly be reassuring news to prospective buyers and can't be doing any favours to ongoing sales of Laguna

    Hello self fulfilling prophecy?

Personally I love the look of Laguna (sedan) and even moreso that utterly gorgeous Coupe which, in pics at least, appears imo to be among a handful of the most appealingly attractive designs on the market today

Those upspec interiors seem particularly inviting, with Renault concentrating more towards delivering a quiet & refined ambience instead of loud 'look at me' glitz. The impression I've gained is of Laguna promising to be a competent and polished allrounder, a nice mode of travel for those wishing a 'calm zone' rather than seekers of the Maximum Sports Experience

In as much I really thought Renault might be onto something with this consumer-focussed philosophy, reinforced by their apparently genuine commitment to (finally) produce in particular a well engineered, durable, high quality car. Fwiw all of these positive aspects to Laguna hold real appeal to me

However it seems there is preciously insufficient room left in automotivedom for quiet mature competence paired to a bit of Gallic flair and individualism - with glitz, glam and shazzam ruling the day (along with a fancy badge)

for what its worth here's a glowing Oz review of Laguna

Which is annoying frankly. But still if you search you can still find some favolously discreet cars. There the latest Renaults as you say and modern Volvos as well, and probably some others.
