    CTS Coupe slated for production

One of the positive side effects of the testimony of the big 3 auto execs is that they have to reveal all of their plans for profitability. GM released a very large report this week, and in it was a solitary picture of the production CTS Coupe. Slated to come initially with the same V6 found in the sedan, and the same 6 speed automatic transmission. No word yet on the possibility of a V version with the V8, but I'll hold out for that thanks.

Also released in the reports are the 2010 300C and Grand Cherokee. All other mentioned GM models have been seen in production form already.

Is it just me or is this car butt ugly? I have seen the concept, twice, also in movement, and I really can't see any beauty or added value to it.

Well, do bear in mind Cadillac´s previous offerings. At least it looks different, aggresive, powerful and purposeful.

Coupe concept that appeared in Motor Trend from what I remember looks better than this, but I'll want to see more pictures before I judge.

I managed to see the CTS-V in the flesh and it's gorgeous. This really could be but the aforementioned problems are plaguing it. I also much prefer the V grille. If this had a more orthodox/lower rear and a was a V - I think it'd be stunning but for now it's a bit of an oddity in my eyes for an American car.

    I don't think it's butt-ugly, but it's butt is ugly, and it ain't pretty.

Vote me in on the ugly ballet. I haven't cared for this bodystyle since Cadi switched over to it (don't remember what year). Just doesn't look like a luxury auto to me. Weird aggressive frontend capped off by a cheap, boring rearend. The two halves just don't seem to coincide....although, frankly.....this seems to be an ongoing problem with alot of auto models these days.

This is basically this car's main problem.

And it was so easy to do it well...

    Pictures of concept for reference:

Not sure if it's drastically different to the picture shown up top but imo this version is better.

The butt makes it look heavy and ponderous. Another victim of the "suburban tank" style of automotive design. I prefer the normal sedan. (The V is hideous)
