If I ever go to Australia, I'll make sure to join you on this event. Did anyone from UCP race?

Sweet pics Chris, looks like it was quite an event, shame I missed it.

I would have liked to headbutt Regi in the gentleman area. Several times.

    Yes I am, sir.

I had to drop by to show some love to the Aussies.

    Nice pics.
Mike Roddy's Jag won the 1985 Bathurst 1000 and the 1984 Spa 24-hour race, so its one of the more valuable Touring Cars from the 1980s. Its good to see him using it for what it was built for and not just leaving it sitting a museum somewhere.
Unless the rules for the Bathurst 1000 (currently for V8 Supercars) and the Spa 24-hour (currenly for FIA GT) are re-aligned again in the future, it is a feat that will never be repeated.
I believe the ex-Schintzer BMW driven by Glen Seton is one of the cars that won the Nissan-Mobil 500 at Wellington (with Pirro as one of the drivers). Considering that its a DTM spec Evo-Sport, it may be the car that won in 1990 or 91.

Also, one of those "Datsuns" is in fact the Winfield Nissan Skyline GT-R - the 1992 Bathurst 1000 winning car - a car that is equally one of the most loved and most hated car in Australian Touring Car history.
It won the 1992 Bathurst 1000 after being reduced to 3 wheels and crashing at very low speed into some other parked cars on Conrad Straight. The reason it was on three wheels? Even a rain master like Jim Richards has limited abilities to control a 600 bhp car in a deluge when its on slicks. AWD didn't help in such a situation either.
And how did a crashed car win? The race was red-flagged and the results were taken back to the last completed full lap, as per FIA regulations. And at that time the GT-R was still leading. With the Ford Sierra RS500 of Dick Johnson in second.
    However, the fans weren't happy.
See this Youtube video for what happened, and for Jim Richard's response to the crowd: YouTube - "Pack of A.......s" Bathurst 1992 Jim Richards.
Apparently upset Ford and Holden fans still try to damage the car and throw eggs at this GT-R to this day....

My pictures are not that good. Some smart guy thought it would be a good idea to attend the weekend with a T-Shirt and shorts. It's not going to rain just because they say it is. Spent most of the time trying to hide my arms from the rain.

    1: Jag XK8. Nice plate.
2: Glen Seton in the BMW M3 on his way out.
    3: Melbourne that way <-----

You went to the trouble of getting the glasses, I thought we had to show them. I'll hide the other one.

    It's deceptive.

I'm 20 and 6"4, so most people can't look me in the face to check I'm a baby.....

    Ves Kanda

A car built in Adelaide to Group C spec in 1984 by K & A Engineering. Never campaigned in Europe of North America due to lack of budget, it did some racing in Australia and New Zeeland around that time though, but without much competition.
