    What might this car be?

My Dad was recently at a North London car meet with his Libra and a very interesting car parked a few spaces away. I will post a picture of the engine bay and see how close people come to working it out. I will post an image of the whole car in a few days.

    Anyone?
I will let you know if anyone gets close.

Thinking about it, this might be quite mean...ah well, we'll see.

It looks almost like a Cobra with a Lotus V8.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

A ZR-1 you mean? Could it not be an Esprit's engine?

Probably cheap and available as well as quite performing.

Maybe the cheapest 350bhp engine available around...

The engine bay seems quite cramped, so maybe the only engine that would fit?

Given that Mr Shelby fit a 427 in there, I'm sure it's possible to make with with a rather capacious engine bay. Not sure if they're all that way though.

By the way, the gearbox is the Tremec T56 six speed manual. And apparently the chief AC engineer at the time was the man who had led the design team for the Lotus V8, so maybe there's the reason.

I've heard it's not too good, but I wouldn't say no to one.
