    Passed my driving test!

    Hey guys,

I know I'm no longer a regular member here and I may not have settled my differences somewhat with some people but still, I always said I would announce the news here on UCP when I started learning so here I am!

I passed my practical driving test first time today! 5 minors out of a possible 16. Took my test in Northwich UK. In a red 2008 Ford Fiesta 3dr (like this one). Really pleased with myself. And after all this time drooling over cars etc I can now officially say I am part of the driving team!

    See you on the road

    thanks guys

being in a car alone is the weirdest feeling at first..

I dont have my own car yet. Thats my next saving project. But I am fully insured on my dads 2.0L Golf GT-Sport. Its just a little power-happy lets say.

    Congrats!
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

I definitely will. Just from driving during lessons you realise so many people drive on auto pilot these days. Its like being on a constant dodge-course. I'm not the sort of 20 year old who races at the lights and never will be. Unless there's a row of 5 lights and we're on a race circuit. That changes things But lets not get ahead of ourselves!

Do an advanced driving course NOW before you get any bad habits
Also, some track time is beneficial with an experienced driver who can talk through the impact of turn-in, braking, acceleration safely
    But first ..... congrats

    Congrats man!

Follow Matra's tips or find a large (I mean LARGE) and empty (like the space) parking lot, and enjoy it.

^^^^^ My experience is that's the first thing a new driver in the UK does as soon as the sun goes down

actually i drove in to the busiest part of town in order to get to the mcdonalds drive-thru and back But I did actually go to a large car park and did bay parking etc and drove around. I have technically been driving for about 1 1/2 years so its not a huge new thing. Its just that I no longer have assistance. But its good to know I can deal with it alone and obviously am legally permitted to do so.
