The Gathering 2009 - British Car Show

I just returned from a classic British car show held this past weekend at Shelton Vineyards, North Carolina, USA. It was a great show, the biggest British show in the southeastern US. The weather was awesome, and a ton of cars showed up, many that I've seen before and some I've only seen in pictures. There were over 200 cars total. The show celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Triumph Italia, which was based off of the TR3, but with special bodywork designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Alfredo Vignale. There were 6 at the show, which is the most ever gathered in one place in the US.

I had a booth set up to showcase my artwork too. All in all, it was a great weekend...cool cars and good wine from the local vineyard! Enjoy the pics of the cars and of some of my artwork done for the show.

    Cheers!

You sir, are an excellent automotive artist. Wonderful stuff ! Your camera angles also perfectly capture the stunning lines of the cars on display.

Was goign to point out that this is a Standard 10 and had nothing to do with Triumph .... and then found it was renamed to Triumph for the US market -- I guess to take advantage of the sporting Triumph name ??

    Nice pics

and they were all different....(reputedly as all cars were handmade, not a single panel from one car would fit on any other)

Nice stuff, Triumph TR10 was news to me too. (But what about mentioning an Alfa Romeo Vignale?)

The Alfa was there as a part of the Triumph Italia display since they were both Vignale-bodied cars, even though it was mainly a British show. It was hand-built by Vignale to be displayed at the 1960 World Auto Show in Turin in an attempt to secure a contract with Alfa Romeo (which was ultimately unsuccessful.)

Here's an article with some history and more info on the car:
