    Art Student Makes Invisible Car

    Link

Sara Watson, who is studying drawing at the University of Central Lancashire (Uclan), took three weeks to transform the car's appearance.

She created the illusion in the car park outside her studio at Uclan's Hanover Building in Preston.
It looks pretty cool. I can't imagine the time it takes to figure out how to make it look like it isn't there and line up all the stuff so that the optical illusion is correct.

I'm presuming this only works for a limited field of view, one website i've seen claims it works at any angle viewed, but i dont think that would be physically possible due to the contours and shape of the vehicle.
Ill give her credit its a hard task and she has executed it well and she deserves all the publicity she gets.

it doesn't work if not from a restricted angle.
A good work, but not that difficult to do:
Videocamera looking at the car, a monitor near the car to show you what the camera is recording, and therefore you know where the lines have to go.

    Nice idea though.
    I mean, hiding a Skoda .

just kidding, I would prefer hiding a VW.

Not only "limited field of view" but in fact only visible from one precise point for the eye to be located.
The guy who does the street art chalwork can be seen moving from drawing to back to a tripod where he has a frame set up and a view point to check it all.

It cant work for every angle, to get it in perspective at one angle lines will have to be altered and extruded due to the angle and non consitent angles of the body work. which then wont match up when looked upon from an alternate viewpoint.

    This is actually pretty cool.
When I saw the title I imagined somebody up against a deadline turning in a blank paper and calling it art.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

Although well done on the hard work, I fail to see the point.
Buying a car and not driving it is like buying a meal and not eating it.

Hey! No need for the vw hating! just kidding

I liked the part where they mentioned people almost bumping into the car, and also the overall idea which is to promote recycling.

Very cool, but again it's only invisible from one angle. Hopefully she got a good grade...
