Exactly. If these are straight roads, that is, and I ain't paying for gas. ...and it has to be a convertible.
If hilly twisty mountain roads, a Lotus Elan. 3,000 miles might be hard, though. I'd go through so many Lucas Electric's products, it'd be more expensive than gas for the Continental.
If a mix of the two, E46 M3 or E90 335i.

Elan would be excellent in the Top Gear road trip to find the greatest driving road that they made a couple of seasons or so ago. But if you had to combine twisty mountain roads with city driving then the Abarth 500 SS.

hmmm, the amount of miles definitely narrows the list of possibilities down. I like the idea of a road trip in a Porsche GT1 (fuer die Strasse), but not one thats over 3000 miles. Something on the car would probably break in that time anyway lol.

I'd have to take.....a Bentley Continental GT. Its the first thing that comes to mind when I have to take a long drive and exclusivity into account at the same time. However, if I didn't value comfort so much I'd be taking the Porsche without a doubt.

Let me add another one. The above would be for highway driving with few curves.

For a trip with more curves and some mountain roads, a '57 Chrysler 300-C, 392-Hemi engine rated at 375 hp. Why? Because I could enjoy good handling without being in a cramped, uncomfortable small car.

No prejudice here. I just would rather not drive in a cramped, uncomfortable small car. I like bigger cars, with 60+ inches of shoulder and hip room!

Well, it should be obvious. A big car with 60+ inches of shoulder and hip room is going to feel much more roomy than a smaller car with 52 or 54 inches of shoulder and hip room. The seats are much larger, too, (width and fore-and-aft) on the larger cars.

I notice the difference right away when sit inside one of my Cadillacs then sit in my brother's '08 Acura TL or my other brother's (wife's car, actually) '07 Camry. I also notice it is much easier, when in the driver's seat, to turn around and look behind you (like when you are backing up). I don't feel as confined in my cars compared to my brother's.

- Cadillac DTS
- Lincoln Town Car L-Series
- And being a Mopar (and Cadillac) guy, maybe a Dodge Challenger, though I much prefer a '70-'71 Challenger R/T 440-Magnum

I wouldn't call an Acura TL small, cramped and uncomfortable though. Or a Citroën DS for that matter.
