Henk, I really like your picture as I think it tells a good story, however, and I realize that being in a vehicle at speed severely limited your options, I think that the zoom is not quite there.
I think either a close-up of the bus and people showing what exactly they were doing and possibly conveying a bit more emotion, could work well. Alternatively, a more-panoramic setup showing the bus and people as small compared to the massive (I'm assuming) vacuum of their surroundings.
    My 1.4 Eurocents.

Well, if I had asked my driver to stop for every photo occasion, the trip might have taken the whole day in stead of 4 hours....I only have the 17-40 with me, so my zoom options were quite limited too...and yes the void there is amazing.

Well, cleaning the sensor might allow you to see more of that vastness as well!

I'm being such a bugger tonight!

The dirty appearance of the picture, whether from the car window or your lens/camera isn't anything too bad that a little band-aid tool in PS couldn't fix. Definitely something you could shoot in RAW and clean up real nice. IDK if you shoot in RAW or even have the CF capacity to shoot RAW but I recommend it.
