    Independence Day
Nikon d90 and 10.5 fisheye. raw adjustments

This viscous line of storms hit the Washington DC area on Tuesday. I always have my camera with me and ran up to our rooftop garden to take a series of photos. It reminded me of the scene from Independence day where the folks were up on the roof waiting to get vaporized by the mean extraterrestrials. I can't really explain the circular set of clouds prominent in the photo. At first I thought it was the sun forming a spot. But, the sun was in the west, not this southeast facing scene. There was one minor tornado that touched down in the DC area.

This company is one of the four major fuel refineries in the Port of Rotterdam. This kind of piping is very common on these terrains. Don't be surprised if you see big plumes of smoke billowing out of them, very bad smelling chemicals surrounding you or squeeking and banging pipelines. Very troubling if you are not used to them

    Nowhere?
This shots greatly reminds me about the scruffy layout of buildings and pavements in the former communist countries where I have been spending my past four weeks...(but I assume this shot is the USA)

"Nowhere" was actually supposed to be the title, not the location, haha. It was shot in a small rural town in Wisconsin. I was visiting family in the area, so I spent a little time just walking around that town taking photos, something I don't do nearly frequently enough. I've been trying to take more non-auto photos for a number of reasons. I think it'll improve my photography in general, including automotive photos.

Blanchardville. My parent's home is technically in South Wayne, but it's like 5-10 minutes out of the town (which is tiny) and it's a good 20+ minutes to Blanchardville.

Superwaxer, I know it's not supposed to be a scary photo, but it made me think about the teaser for Bioshock 2.

Which is pretty freaky, if you ask me.
