Why so? I get the pourpose of simplifying the rear diffuser to make the air behind the car cleaner and to improve slipstreaming possibilities, but why within the wheelbase? I didn't understand it why FIA issued it for this year and still don't quite get.

i hope like hell your wrong . i luvs me FF & FR for road driving compared to the power loss & weight gain of 4WD

now on topic , F1 should be the ultimate track burners imo

nothing should be more capable than F1 . to me they should be the fastest lap time makers

& F1 attracts the best drivers because its the ultimate class (speed , money , fame) - so being car focused means you attract the greatest talent

trying to lower the corner speed of the cars is a double edged sword . you want to keep the gladiators safe as they battle , but you want the gladiators to give a good fight for the paying gawker . so what you end up with is a hobbled product

whats the solution ? havent the foggiest sorry . . . . . . . . . . this year HAS been the best in a while tho for cut & thrust racing

I agree, it's been the best, but because of a rather big unification. In today's qualification top ten was in just 0.7 seconds.

P.S. It seems that was before the final laps were done, so the official gap is about 1.2 seconds, but it's still not so big one.
