    Sir Jack Brabham

ABC TV in Australia has a show called Australian Story where they profile people and let they and their friends tell the story.

Last week they profiled the only man to win the F1 world championship in a car wearing his name.

It can be watched under the name When We Were Racers.

I watched that the other day, he's still quite spritely despite his ill Health.

I honestly thought he died a few years back Where's his recognition?

    Stunning achievements, really.

Designed AND drove the Championship winning car...

    ...a few times, too!

I guess if he were English or French or American, we'd never hear the end of it.

He still competes regularly in the Classic Adelaide Rally held each year in South Australia. Sir Jack's a Rolled Gold Legend.

It is all a bit sad that he doesn't get the recognitional he deserves but the main thing is that us who do realize his greatness can remember him and hope that one day everyone will see what a great talent he was. F1 in its early days are a little bit lost to the common pleb.

on the other hand there is a park named after him in my home town of Orange NSW
its inside a track he used to race on occasionally back in the days of the cooper climax
