Exclusively dedicated to Pre-74 Italian Sports, Sports-Prototype and GT cars of a type that were raced in the World Endurance Championship or in International Competition in period, the ‘Italian Historic Car Cup’ will run races for the most outstanding historic racing cars.
The ‘Italian Historic Car Cup’ comes to complement the highly successful ‘GT & Sports Car Cup’ race series also organized by Flavien and Vanessa Marçais across Europe.
To name the most iconic models, the following examples have already been registered:
Ferrari 250 GT SWB, 250 GTO, 330 LM/B, 275 GTB, Dino 206 S and 246 S, Ferrari 312 P, 412 P, 512 S and M, 312 P/B and Daytona Group 4, Alfa Romeo TZ, TZ2, 33/2, 33/3 and 33TT3, Abarth SE 021 and SE 027, Simca-Abarth 2000, Maserati 250 S, T61 and 151.
The 2010 calendar will be as follows:
Coppa Intereuropa at Monza 4 - 5 - 6 June 2010
Silverstone Classic 23 - 24 - 25 July 2010
Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring 13 - 14 - 15 August 2010
Grand Prix Historique de Lédenon 22 - 23 - 24 October 2010
The inaugural round will appropriately take place at the most famous Italian circuit:
The ‘Monza Autodromo’.
The second round will be one of the feature races of the Silverstone Classic, starting on Saturday evening and running into the dusk.
‘Italian Historic Car Cup’ competitors will then race on the Nürburgring modern Formula One track and also demonstrate their cars on the mythical ‘Nordschleife’, where they ran in period.
The series will head towards the South of France for the final round of the season, to race on the undulating circuit of Lédenon, just North of the beautiful region of Provence.
