i also drove a 09 the new body style and i didn't like it. i blame the transverse mounted engine for that.

Its still longitudinal. The only change in this respect from old (B7) to new (B8) is the clutch has been moved to behind front diff to get engine further back.

Thought so too, isn't because otherwise they will have trouble to accommodate the Quattro system?

I dont know, probably more stuborness. I guess if they really wanted, instead of borrowing platform from A5, A6 etc they could borrow from VW golf/passat etc with its alternative haldex/multiplate clutch transverse 4wd system like thay have with A3/TT. Different to the mechanically simpler 40:60 torsen centre diff currently used.

My mom & dad stopped by today to pick us up and take us to lunch, so I snapped a quick one from my cell. I still have to take proper photos, but I haven't had the time.

Very very comfy with enough power, I'm happy with his choice.
