Nice, normally apsirated V8 is good indeed.

Elegant modernism wrapped in similar designs.

And I'm all for that instead of garish post-modern flame surfacing.
    I agree, except for:

    The grille is fairly nasty.

But I prefer a fixable front clip to an unfixable flame surface.

god i hate you audi haters! i agree audi is the 90's BMW but BMW is now heading back to that same design. look at the 7 series and the new 5 series. i was expecting a gruntier V8 instead of a revving v8. i love the 5 series audi's, A, Q, S & RS

You didn't like Audi until your family owned one. Before that you were adamant about RWD with your family's G35.

    So shut up.

At this price point (the one of the RS5) I'd rather a Jag or a Maser.

At normal Audi and BMW price point, I'd rather a Datsun probably.

And if we take looks out of the equation just avoid Audi altogether. Except perhaps the R8. That car intrigues me.

Why? I didn't think you were a fan of AWD in performance cars.

Also, would you have one over a Gallardo? Why or why not?

It's true I don't like four wheel drive performance cars. Or four wheel drive anywhere except in proper off roaders.

But everyone says it's great, so I'm willing to give it the benefit of doubt. It also removes one of Audis biggest problems, nose heaviness.

R8 or Gallardo? R8, since it's basically the same car but cheaper.

Dont think this RS5 tickles me the same way the RS4 does. I hear its 1650kg in some reports (DIN), so perhaps not as porky as you might expect. Crown gear differential? does not sound particularly advanced, just different from the other one with worm wheels (even if it does have electronic clutch packs now).

I can imagine it looking even less dramatic and undestated when in a silver/grey/black, without the TTRS style intakes and rear bumper setup you might struggle to tell it from a S5.

I agree its price range is now intimdating. If you want a sure fire 2 door sports coupe there is a lot at this price. This cant be too far off the up and coming M5 when specced, never mind a more appealable M3 fully loaded. If distance and refinement are more your thing then the XFR is a better bet too IMO.

I guess time will tell if its a good car like the RS4 or R8. I dont want theses cars to continue to go on relyng on electronics (like the S4) to reach competency.

I kind of don't like the S4 on the fact that it now has a V6. If I wanted a V6, I would have gotten something else. The S4 used to have this massive honking V8 in it.

Then again it's supercharged and I haven't heard it, but still.

It's a good noise, but the old one's bassy growl was just lovely. When my uncle used to pull out of our driveway and floor it, it was something to behold; great sound.
