    AVR Motorsport takes over TLM racing in Canadian Formula 1200 Championship

    AVR Motorsport has entered for the 2010 Formula 1200 season. AVR Motorsport is runned by Sam Ashtiani, Shane Viccary and Jonathan Rostlin. The two drivers ran with Formula 1200 in the 2009 and 2008 season. AVR Motorsport has taken over the TLM racing team as with the cars they have run since the 2007 season.

    AVR Motorsports was founded in 2010, initially aiming to provide arrive-and-drive services to pre-determined race series. As AVR grows, so will our line of products and services, which will eventually venture into the likes of Formula Ford's, production track cars, engineering and design services etc.
    One of the founding owners Shane Viccary has had a number of diplomas from Mechanical engineering technology to Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Automotive Engineering. Shane has run in a number of Formula 1200 (Vee). From 2006 to 2008 he ran a vintage 1966 Kelly. In 2009 he switched to a 1970 Altona and also competed in the 2009 Formula 1200 Championship with Gladiator chassis. He also competed in endurance racing for Ginetta G15 in Gratton, Michigan.

    Jonathan Rostlin has a number of degrees.
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering, Concentrating in Mechatronics – Graduating April 2010
    • Build Team Member F2007
    • Project leader of Powertrain Department and driver for UOIT Formula SAE F2008 car
    Jonathan has also been involved with a lot of semi professional and professional racing series. Since there is so much we will only list just a few. From 2007 to 2010 he was car chief in the Porsche Club of America (PCA) for Brian Charters. He has also worked with the American Lemans (ALMS) for GMG a s a Car Chief as well the ALMS of Snow Racing.

    Sam Ashtiani is the newest Partner on the team in terms of racing. Sam is also finishing up his Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Automotive Engineering. He has obtained a CASC-OR grade a licence. Sam started racing for the Formula 1200 series in 2008. Since then he has become no stranger to the lifestyle of the series. With engine rebuild’s and so on. Sam has also been involved with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. With Team3Red, as a Crew Member.
