Got a bit of a shock reading this article on a new viper for 1012:

So a new 8.4 litre V10 with multiair with help from Ferrari? I thought this was an April fools but maybe they are really serious.
Also as we know multi-air uses a camshaft to conventionally operate the exhaust valves directly and the intake valves via an adjustable hydraulic solenoid simultaneously. Will this be implemented alongside 4 valves per cylinder head here or somehow uncomfortably modified for a single central camshaft pushrod V10?
Why else then would you retain an 8.4 litre capacity and V10 configuration? Just for tradition? Surely if they were going to adopt a more sophisticated breathing system they might as well reconsider the whole engine design including capacity and configuration as well?
Perhaps a viper without a big V10 would not work however the above article does suggest a V8 version.
Another thought I had was that multiair could be spreading further in other areas. For example Ferrari.
Of course, this early on it could all be hype. Any thoughts?
