    Bought a new car

    ...... for my wife

She wanted a comfortable sedan.... After checking out the Altima, Mazda 6, and Accord, we decided to stop by the Hyundai dealer. We were extremely surprised with what the Sonata offered for a couple of thou$and$ less, including 198hp which none of them can match (4 cylinder versions), and an interior which imo looks / feels better than the ones that I just mentioned.

Congrats. A few of my friends have Sonatas and they are pretty solid(ish). Basically boring Nipponese car, but for a lot less that Japanese money.

They're by no means a drivers car, but the fit, finish and styling are on par with their competitors, and they're cheaper. As if you wouldn't

Nice choice for Mrs Niko, Now Bikini shots on the bonnet plz

Congrats. The new Sonata seems to be a very good car overall... remember the times when you wouldn't have mentioned Hyundai in the same sentence with the jap brands?

I know! I'll let you guys know how this car comes out, hopefully the solid quality that they advertise is as good as I expect.

Watch out for a complete failure of the steering assembly. I hear it can be nasty.

Congrats, keep us posted on the good stuff and hopefully not on the bad

We have a Getz (pre New Hyndai) it's a good car but i find the stearing, pedal, gearlever, too sensitive/delicate.

Is the Sonata a more grown up car? Solid?

If you didn't say that it was a Hyundai I would have thought it's a Lexus.

    Nice car!

It feels and drives pretty good / solid. The driving is just like any new Accord or Mazda 6 but with more power and imo a bit smoother.

    Nice car!
    Thanks!

Very nice car. I'm actually looking at one of these cars myself, and I see them around often. They are nice cars, and yours (well, your wife's) looks great in white.

    Congtrats.

I'll be paying attention to this thread to see how the car works, handles, because as I mentioned, I'm looking at these cars myself.

It looks eleventy billion times better than any Hyundai we get in the UK (they're exclusively for the elderly, the clueless and misers here!) and it actually looks like quite a nice cruiser!

I wish they'd release the Genesis Coupé here - although with Hyundai's brand reputation (for cheap, boring cars) and our fuel / tax prices, sales might be slow.
