    Peugeot 405 vs. Daewoo Nexia

I want to buy a new car. I have two options to choose from: Peugeot 405 1995 and Daewoo Nexia 1995.
Which one is a better car to own?? Which one is better engineered?Which one handles better?Which one is faster?Which one is more comfortable?
Please explain your reasons about what you think.
    Thanks in advance.

Any idea how many Kms on the odometer?

Also, it's not that the Peugeot is better than the Deawoo, it's just that the Daewoo is most likely worse than the Peugeot, which is why I voted for the Peugeot.

    Pretty much what he said.
Especially for a 15 year-old Daewoo because I image the Daewoo-ness increases with age.

Well bear in mind the Daewoo is just an Opel Kadett.

So see it as Peugeot 405 v Opel Kadett, in a way.

Ferrer is right, and as much i like Opel, the Kadett E was plain rubbish. What i mean is: take the Peugeot.
Never thought I would ever adsvise someone to buy a Peugeot. That's a pretty weird feeling .

Go with the Peugeot, most of the Daewoos I've seen of that age are in horrible condition. The 405s tend to vary from very good to very bad. Check it first if you can.

I also voted for the Peugeot

    What engines do they have?

Can't you choose a slightly newer but smaller car?

the two cars are not in the same market segment, the Nexia is clearly the smaller and less comfortable car, and most likely also the slower.
What to buy depends on the state of the specific vehicles. If you have a choice between a solid nexia and a solid 405, go for the latter.
Don't mind manufacturer pedigree or history, if a car is a rotten car, it won't help you a lot if the manufacturer is in high esteem.

Thanks for your advice. I am aware of the fact that manufacturer's pedigree or history can't help me in buying a car but i just wanted to know which one has more reputation and better pedigree just for curiosity.

it might be important for you when you consider it an issue in which car you prefer to be seen in. Also in that case I would prefer a Peugeot.

    Peugot

A friend of mine had one of these and the boot retaining mechnism broke, i.e. When he opened the boot it would swing right up and into the rear windscreen, breaking it. Dont see many of these on the road these days.
