erm...where's the Miura?
Audi humbles Porsche. A new dawn starts today.
Being nice since 2007.
in the motor!

How wasn't he killed by Miura fans?
They didn't recognize it as a Miura...
Why should he be killed by Miura fans? I am sure Lambo happily provided the running gear and it's a different car altogether. It's not like he took the only remaining original 40 years later and "ruined" it
We Just bought this car at a auction. It has been missing for 30 Years.

Amazing, bk812. Yes, congratulations... seems like aside from a few museums, Colani himself owns most of his creations.
Very curious about mechanical design, especially (lack of) chassis rigidity as well as the front suspension/wheel arrangement.
Has the cockpit cover collapsed? Would love to see some detail photos.
Welcome, and please if you will, tell us where it was found and how the restoration progresses.
Colani's stuff is often plain weird but equally compelling.

Wow! Please tell us more!
Wasn't it called Colambo?
"1970. Life-size model of a two-part hybrid car. The engine and cam shaft are taken from a Lamborghini Miura, the separate passenger cabin is designed like the cockpit of a glider."
EDIT: Found more at FerrariChat: [ame="http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=139932681"]Miura, the original supercar - Page 398 - FerrariChat.com[/ame]
Scary!Double nose wheels under the housings, hydraulic suspended rear end, brakes, calipers, full trans-axle, steering are all there, but no engine at this time.
Luigi Colani is aware of the car's discovery, has identified it as his original unit, and will be providing some answers (was it drive-able?) in the next week or so. The haft is the linkage that affords independent movement of the front cockpit ion turning. Driver and passenger are in lie-down race-car mode. Plexiglass bubble is there but broken and a new one will have to be fabricated. Anyone restoring this ought to install a Miura engine running off trumpet exhausts to make it run (side-mounted radiators would have to be used and the vents would have to be utilized for cooling).
More when Colani chimes in. Perhaps we will get the original illustrations..

Nice photos on the site you moderate, Ecnelis... and the more I see, the more this strikes me as a full-sized concept model. If anyone knows for certain it was realized please advise. I looked around pretty hard but couldn't find anything in print about the completed, running car. Just the repeated (and annoying) reference to "engine and cam". It's clear from the images of the recovered car the interior and controls are non-existent, no radiator openings, and the engine a mockup. Looking exactly like the 1970 shot below.
As a designer, I've long admired Colani but too often his claims are... just that. Shaping extraordinary forms in foam he does very well, but engineering mechanical solutions, not so much.

Here are some more pictures
Appreciate the additional photos, bk812... what I'm seeing is the mockup, please correct me if there's anything about it that indicates it was a runner. I notice there are no lights of any kind as well as no controls as mentioned earlier. Is there any working suspension, and
can you describe or photograph the chassis structure? Many thanks in advance...
BTW, how the heck did this thing end up in Canada?!?

We believe the car was never made to run. As you mentioned there are no light or controls. as for suspension the car actually pivots in the center. Do not know how the car ended up in Canada but we bought it in Indianapolis.
