Renault Mégane Sport R26.R v Ford Focus RS

if you had around £25,000 to spend out of the two cars which one would you buy here are some stats for both cars

    Ford Focus RS
    2.5 Straight 5 KKK Turbo
    301 bhp
    Torque 440 Nm
    0-60 mph 5.9 s

    Renault Mégane Sport R26.R
    2.0 Straight 4 turbo
    230 bhp
    Torque 310 Nm
    0-60 mph 6.4 s

the ford is more powerfull and the Mégane Sport R26.R is better on the track. i would have the Ford Focus RS i think it is the better hot hatch

so which one would you have

I'm pretty sure this comparison might have been relevant perhaps 4 years ago. Both these cars have been superceded.

The comparo was from July last year on Top Gear. I imagine the next poll will be Jag XFR and M5.

Yeah but just because this match-up is four years old doesn't necessarily mean that ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

The Ford has. You can't even order STs. Only 110bhp diesel and 100bhp petrol. However maybe you could find one at a dealer which hasn't be registered yet.

Answering the question, if I have two seats I don't want to be stuck with front wheel drive.

We're getting RS's shipped now so theyre still getting built. Behind that we still get ST's despite the loss of Volvo and the standard petrol motor here is the 107kw 2L.

Well maybe the whole range is being distributed across the markets where they sell the most. So big engines overseas, and small engines in Europe.

The same regs that brought us the Fiat 500 TwinAir

I voted for the Focus because it's one of the most impressive FWD cars I've ever seen. The R26R is more puristic, but the RS is simply in a different league.

Yep the same regulations that have killed the Civic Type R and the Mazda RX-8.

Since we're comparing FWD cars my vote is:

    Oldsmobile Toronado
    7.5 liter V8
    385 bhp
    Torque 645 Nm
    0-60 mph 7.5 s
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
