    Thanks.
    That was shot RAW with my D300s. Here is the rest of the work flow;
    The NEF was processed with ACR/CS5, Camera profile set at "Camera Standard";
    Lens distortion profile applied with ACR;
    Base luminance noise reduction set in ACR (insurance);
    Some recovery, blacks, clarity, & vibrance applied in ACR.
    In CS5; resized to 12x8; applied slight "S"curve with Curves adjustment layer.
    Applied a pass of "Unsharp mask" @ 140%.
    Duplicated layer, resized the canvas in each dimension, black background.
    In the top layer in blending modes, added a 10px white outer stroke.
    Merged layers, and saved JPEG. Then resized that for UCP posting.
    Regards,
    Savageduck

    The shot is one from a series, where the door goes from an almost vertical position, down to an almost closed one under braking. Later on the door flew off.

    @Savageduck,
    Out of curiosity, how much time did you use to construct that picture? I would also love to see the original shot.

    About three minutes.
    I have my work flow pretty much down. For example, adding the border I have built actions for dealing with various crop sizes. That just takes seconds.
    Find the uncropped, unaltered original, converted from RAW without adjustments (I only shoot RAW) 8MB, 4288 × 2848, JPEG, attached, OOPS! we can only attach 1MB JPEGS, so for the full size I will send you a link in a private message.

    Sorry to hear that. Whenever something like that happens there is a lingering sense of violation.

    I gather you have filed your claim for the Nikon D3s, $18,000 worth of lenses, iPad, and laptop which were stolen.

    ...and thanks to all for the votes in #258.

    The whole situation really kind of sucked. I should have known better than to park in a mostly-empty parking lot under a freeway in DC, even if it was only two blocks from a police station (on the other hand, that meant I was able to just walk over there to get help).

    I am pleased with how the picture came out, though.
