    Close Call at Sebring

I don't know where else to post this, because viewing these 15 images by slideshow is better than video. My first race in over a decade was in a '68 911 2.0 I'd never driven before. Had a few "moments" but embarrassed myself just a couple of times, tried hard to keep my nose clean. This is a series of captures from my in-car video... unfortunately I had lost 2nd gear the lap earlier, so just keeping out of the way of two cars as we approach the hairpin. Trying to carry 3rd gear though the hairpin would have been foolish and maybe done more damage to the gearbox so I slowed enough to let these guys go by. The 914/6 has just passed a DSR under braking, but can't make it work. Le pirouette.

nice shots, and the yellow sportscar is indeed just an inch away, but could have taken much more evasive action. Probably the X on the back explains why it did not.
The front filler of the 911 does not automatically promote it to a 911R????

    Not a REAL one.

EDIT: It's actually a close to accurate R clone, but nobody with a real ($$$) R would flog one in HSR!

No, HSR Fall Classic, the season final this past October (22-25) which was early... usually it's in late November. I didn't go to the legends event and will probably do just 4-6 races next year. Between HSR and SVRA I could wear a car out if I could afford to.

Clutch, check out this in-car from the guy that built my engine... a very fast 2.4 914/6, better than 10 seconds a lap quicker than my 911. Can't wait to build my GT.

They are popular cars, both at the Monterey Historics, as well as the Le Mans Classic.
Rusell is the 914 you are showing this one ? (there is a glimpse of purple from the right front fender)

Sorry Pieter, no... it's red and has KMWMotorsports logos prominent. Wish I had a shot of it as it's beautifully prepared.
I haven't really posted pics of the 911, so here's a few. Name's on the car for the 'Nogg.

yeah i only see them racing in pictures on the net (somewhat infrequently it seems too) - the only local ones come out for concourse events and a few drives but that's it.. i dare say there is noone locally that could prep one effectively for the track come to think of it.
i had a friend in the states who owned two while he worked at a workshop but he had to move and ended up in an sti iric.

Laguna 2011? Looks the deal. What about the mirrors, are they period?
