    Triumph of the Bonnevilles

I got a new ride! This is to replace the GS500 that got written off in early december last year via the side of a delivery van coming the other way that decided to turn across in front of me. I was fine, it wasn't. Anyhoo, onto the good stuff...

It's an '06 Triumph Bonneville 865 with a blacked out engine/crankcase and King and Queen seat. It's comfy, speedy(er) and I reckon it looks great. It's not the fastest thing out there but I'm more likely to ride to Melbourne than do a track day. I hearts it, anyway.

Good stuff, what is the history of the current Triumph Company, was it built on the ashes of the original British company, or is it a real continuation?

Oh, and just to make it a triple post, if anyone's wondering about the helmet looking kinda funny there - the chin guard flips right over to the back so you can ride with it open faced or closed. Also there's a top gun tinted visor inside it that you can push down with a slider that pops out the top there.

Nice retro looking bike... speed isn't everything.

A neighbor of ours bought a 900 Trident when they came out, a very good motorcycle that just lacked Triumphness.
As does the Rocket... 2.2 ltrs! I've never seen one, were they trying to out-hog the other cruiser makers?

My uncle has a Rocket III, he rides it the length and breadth of the country. It was the most powerful production bike available, but I think Yamaha announced an 1800 with more power. Less torque though.
