Actually, in my opinion, for high speed motorway driving steering feel is quite important.

It is. I meant that the Croma doesn't provide much feeling at speeds like 70-100 km/h, but at higher speeds the setting is perfect.
At lower speeds it's just light enough to help you maneuvering the car, especially considering the large tires (225 or 235 on 18").

One more to add about the Infiniti. I don't know what the 2003 G has, the car feel artificially heavy low speed(parking lot), weighs about normal at speed. The 2011 M was like the polar opposite, the low speed seems extremely over boosted, higher speed weighs a bit, but still seem too light compare to GTI after driving it for a while....at highway speed it is a bit disconcerting...It loads up once you are turning, but since its light on-center it seems to have some play to it...

Could it be that this is a typical Fiat problem? Because that would explain why my driving school car (a Fiat Bravo) had as much feel as a big slab of ham on the autobahn while doing 160 km/h.

I don't know, the Croma is half Opel.
As I said, at high speeds its steering is excellent for the car.
Being picky, the Stilo's is a bit heavy at high speeds.

If you think about the kind of cars Fiat offers, it makes sort of sense. The Croma's handling is perfect for the Croma.
On the other hand the 159 SW I drove was a completely different game, much more alive, slightly tail happy, and very responsive. It's still a Fiat product, you may say.
Suspensions have a role in that too, of course.

I guess they were preparing the market for the Cayenne.

EDIT. Rob, think potential 315bhp RS2 Coupé when the period 911 Turbo had a 320bhp engine, never mind the standard or the Carrera RS.

Good to see the RS4 back. As some of you may know, I make it no secret that I love hot station wagons, or in the much cooler parts of the world, hot estates.

They won't bring the RS4 stateside though, will they? I don't think they ever have.
