You won't hear those anyway....not over open header and a 10k rpm V8....This will work like KERS in F1....

Approximately 79% of statistics are made up.
They work well in race car packaging as the cars don't have that much wheel travel, and with rockers they can be sized quite well. In road car, for the amount of wheel travel needed and the desired rate, I don't think they package as well as a regular spring....

Matra used torsion and VERY effective and much better "Packaged" than any alternative spring.
EXCEPT. You ahve to have a damper somewhere and on a street car the space of a damper with enoguh movement is the same space for a spring so if you can accomodate one you nca manage both So the Matra has a damper where you woudl have had a coil-over for the same space and no need for torsion.
Race cars using bell cranks change the packaging significantly and with tiny movements then a torsion bar often acts as a pivot point as well as a suspension control.
