    2012 24hrs Nürburgring

Well, it's that time again for the 24hrs Nürburgring. With all the political and financial headaches at the track, it's nice to see some racing. Audis are leading overall, Manthey is creeping up the ranks, Toyota is leading with both the LFA and new GT86; the latter leading Dr. Bez in the Zagato, and Mr. Gran Turismo is second in class.

Oh yes, and James Glickenhaus recovered very nicely from a refueling fire, losing only one lap! GO P4/5!

...and just as I finished typing up the post, Manthey has taken the lead!

Great to see P4/5C is so fast! Wanted to find the team on Twitter, btw, to follow their comments, but couldn't find them. Anyone knows?

Amazing race, I'm sure BMW are disappointed but not as much as Mercedes with the SLS expiring at the end...but they also got a break with the Manthey having to stop. The Clio collision was retarted.

P4/5 finished 14th and LFA finished 17th, not bad.

That was a very interesting race. I couldn't believe the heartache of the Mercedes overheating at the end. And that crash at the finish line, what the heck was that all about ?? Unreal !!!

I followed the N24 and the P4/5's exploits online. It would be nice to see some more Ferraris and other non-German cars competing at the track next year with you. Seeing a GT3 or even GT2 458 in lock step with your one off would make for some very nice photos for next year's N24, and add an interesting dynamic. Congratulations on the result, and here's hoping you keep going back to what is one of the great endurance races of each year!

I was at Collector's Studio Motorsports Gallery (I have learned you are familiar with the guys there) and they had a beautiful model of the 2011 P4/5C on display. I was glad to see one of those models in person; a detail I saw on the model I somehow missed on the race car was the Cameron Glickenhaus symbol on the nose. I will have to save my pennies and dimes to pick one up... I - and many others - are very happy you kept the car in bare carbon.

Well done Jim. Was tracking you on the VLN live feeds.
Scary pit fire and glad it had no lasting effect ( as far as I saw ).

ONly thing missing on the car is any STR/SaveTheRing stickers to show support for the Nurburgring to get rid of the Nuro-disney millstone raising prices for the ordinary visitor.
    Maybe next time ?
