you already have 4 wheel drive on the current E46 crop - i know that the 330 has 4 wheel drive and its called the 330Xi - x means 4 offcourse - but not the m3 - the m3 has never ever been four wheel drive and that is going to totally ruin the image of the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE - because that proves bmw can only make their cars the ultimate by adding four wheel drive but the current crop of m3(E30 E36 and E46)they all are rear wheel drive and they handle beautifully - especially the e30 and it handles so well purist claim that it is the car you must drive before you die. - changing the name from m3 to m4 is already a bloody disaster

    but surley

if you could get a 4 wheel drive M3 that would indead be gods car

it would pull the 0-60mph time down to like almost 4 flat std

and it would help with handleing eg not permant just when shit gets out of control.

where is the fun is driving a car then - all the lambos - diablo countach - they all were rear wheel drive and then they did this to the murcielago - and the murcielago isn any much faster than the diablo 6.0(which is rear wheel drive) - the four wheel drive made the murcielago accelerate like a grand ma - it could have gotten 3.3 or 3.4 acceleration time if it has rear wheel drive and that is enzo levels at what 1/3 the price - the e46 m3 accelerates in 4.8-5.0 sec now and if it has four wheel drive and if it keeps the 343 hp it will go down to about 5.2 or 5.3 sec - may be there is more power maybe lets say 400(rough estimate)it will do the same acceleration time or maybe 0.1 sec faster - where is all the fun in driving - why are all the engineers so conservative lately - if BMW is planning on making a drivers car again - like the e30 m3 they better forget about four wheel drive

most people who can afford m3's are old wankers.

and the handfull of m3 drivers who are yound all know how to drive anyway.

but most m3 drivers never push the car and if they do its only in a strait line.
