    BMW 2-Series (F22) Coupé 2013-

BMW today announced the introduction of an entirely new model series with the introduction of the all-new BMW 2 Series Coupe. This new take on The Ultimate Driving MachineTM will arrive in the US in the first quarter of 2014 as the 228i and the M235i. The BMW M235i, the first M Performance Automobile offered in the US, includes an impressive list of performance enhancing features. This successor to the successful 1 Series Coupe will continue the decades-long tradition of premium sub-compact coupes with impeccable driving dynamics when it makes its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in January 2014.

I hope they transplant the 2er's face into the 1er.

I wonder if it handles as badly as the 1er, though.

Why don't they just call it the new 2002?

Apparently, they are adamant it is the spiritual successor the old 02 models.

Nevertheless, that's what the 3er is.

    The new naming convention sucks.

    I'm 100% sure they will.
People seem very confused by BMW's new naming convention. You've got people championing the M4 as an entirely new car, and it seems people can't join the dots between this and the 1-series.
Hint: there's only one dot - it's the same dot.

this car makes me inexplicably angry

and it's not light enough to pull off the 2002 comparison either

Looking forward to the M version of this. Feels like the 1M. The normal 1 series coupe doesn't interest me much, but the 1M is one of my favorite cars.

Don't hold your breath, there's not a lot they could do to the M135i to create an M2.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.
