    Will supercars grow to Formula 1 11-foot (3.30m) wheelbase, 16ft (5m) length?

Most modern Formula 1 cars are almost 5 meters long and have a 3.30m+ wheelbase.
It is said such long wheelbases are needed for high speed and cornering stability.

The Jaguar XJ220, the Ferrari FF and the 612 are already almost 5m long but their wheelbases still fall short Formula 1 dimensions.

So far the only road cars with such long wheelbases are the Rolls Royce Phantom, Maybachs and Chevrolet Suburban SUVs.

Will future supercars grow this much?

I would imagine that the Smart ForOne will have approximately those dimensions.

Most supercars seem to be strictly on a size about 50cm shorter, for handling reasons (although we all know how many of those actually go to the track). It's very unlikely that supercars become so large, for weight and market positioning reasons.

The Smart ForSpeed will be even larger, though.

Since super cars spend so much less time at consistently high speed...I'd say no, they won't grow. Most likely what they'll pick up are more of the chassis lightening aspects. Big power is cool but handling and sex appeal will always be a more practical quality for super car owners.

The only reason they might grow is to fit creature comforts and luxuries.

It's unlikely supercars will grow up in the nearest future.

You are you are talking about supercars. The xj220 was a super car of its time.
But the FF and 612 are more kind of GT cars. I believe supercars might be smaller in the future to save weight. Or I hope.

I would hope you're right, and that they're shrinking. Follow the Colin Chapman school of design and thank me later.

Looks like this trend has been going on nonstop for the last decades:

Lamborghini Miura Length 4.39m Width 1.78m Wheelbase 2.50m
    Countach L 4.14m W 1.89m WB 2.45
    Diablo L 4.46m W 2.04m WB 2.65m
    Murcielago L 4.58/4.61m W 2.05/2.06m WB 2.67m
    Aventador L 4.78m W 2.03m WB 2.70m
    Veneno L 5.02m W 2.08m WB 2.70m

Maybe it is because those who have money for supercars have plenty of parking space wherever they go.
