    Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213) 2016-

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213 and S213) series represent the upcoming fifth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class range of executive cars, including sedan (W213) and station wagon (S213) configurations. Set to be sold from 2016, it is the successor to the W212/S212 E-Class models. A high-performance E63 AMG version of the W213 and S213 will be available as well from 2017.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class, since the mid 1990s, had been equipped with quad headlights and a differentiated design. With the new model, Mercedes decided to take a more streamlined direction, first seen with the 2014 E-Class' redesign and then going in an entirely new direction with the all-new model.

Set to be launched in spring 2016 following a world debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January, the E-Class models will become the most technologically advanced cars Mercedes has ever produced at the time. Official photos of the W213 were leaked on the internet on 4 January 2016 ahead of its unveiling.

What is wrong with giving the E-class a face of its own?
Now you cant see the difference between the C- E- or S-Class apart from its size.

Not that it isn't a smart looking car.
    I'd love to drive one

I was about to say, it looks like a CL or S class coupe with 4 doors. That's not a good thing, it's got the Aston Martin syndrome where every car looks the same.

I can't think of any carmaker where there literally is no car in the lineup I'd want- even the AMG GT-S I don't like. It looks super inflated for some odd reason, and bulbous.

Now every car in Mercedes' lineup looks like a jelly bean. Congrats!

Audi and VW have had every-car-is-the-same syndrome for the past 5 years or so. But their every car has looked fairly good (not that this Benzo doesn't).

This E however, is on a new level of looking like another car. It is a C, but somehow not.

And Jaguar does the same thing with the new XF and the XE.

It does resemble other Mercs a bit, but it looks good.

Also, isn't this supposed to have the new straight six engines?

Ah yes. I was a tad dissapointed to see how similar these two were. Jagaur has been on a roll, and I am likely to forgive some of their shortcomings out of: a) rare optimism!, and b) them being different and actually good! So I probably forgot how similar (the same) they in fact were.

Maybe not so much. Is that a definite even?

Could this Mercedes be more similar to other Mercedeses than Audis are to other Audis?

I also wouldn't mind driving one.

By the way, today I was following a 1st Gen CLS and I have to say, it still looks gorgeous.

First gen CLS looks too much like the AU Falcon, which was so awful it was probably the beginning of the end for the Falcon.
Life's too short to drive bad cars.
