    LeMans 2016

Anyone else been watching? I bought the stream and have been watching while I can, been a pretty clean run really. Interesting start under safety car through the fjords, but otherwise dry running and seemingly not a lot of contact between runners. Great to see Toyota running to strongly and seemingly their race to lose (still 30 minutes to go...) and as disappointed as I am to see Webber lose out so badly with that water pump issue, I'm glad to see Toyota up top so strongly. They've badly needed a good result.. for the past 20 years.

Ford look to have GT-Pro sewn up too, which is a good showing on their debut. Strong showing from the Ferraris too.

The commentary team mentioned something interesting - Alonso has expressed interest in running LeMans, and maybe running a team. Theory: He's still at McLaren because they've promised him a position in a future LeMans entry in GT-Pro, either as driver or manager.

I would watch, but TV coverage is abysmal in the US.

Looks like Toyota is doing pretty well.

Wasn't Jim Glickenhaus supposed to be running something at Le Mans?

I've not seen Glickenhaus. I wonder if he was sparring to be in garage 56?

No 2 Porsche running in second just pitted for tyres and fuel with 10 minutes to go, so that seems like it's pretty much Toyota's game. Good look for the team, given Akio Toyoda is there. Helps justify their budget.

On the other hand, the Ferrari running second in GT-Pro has just been told to box because their leader lights (the three lamps up the side to indicate their position in the top 3 for their class) aren't working. Seems like a crap thing to do with 10 minutes remaining, given that it could easily knock them off the podium.

.. Crap crap crap, the leading Toyota is super down on power with 6 minutes to go. This is awful.

Edit: it's stopped. Stopped on the finish line. What a damned tragedy.

    Welp.

    #2 Porsche 919
    #6 Toyota TS050
    #8 Audi R18

Edit: The #5 Toyota was not classified because they did not complete a cool down lap. From heaven to hell.

What a bastard race for Toyota. Again. They just cannot win.

I'm going to go watch the "European" F1.

I have only watched the last hour, of what I have been told by a friend was an extremely interesting race.

As it turned out, it was the moment to watch.

Very cruel ending for Toyota. Congratulations Porsche.

Toyota were actually not classified for not completing the final lap in less than 6 minutes. Their final lap on EV power alone was 11 minutes reportedly.
Power to me is having the ability to make a change in a positive way. Don't dream it, be it.
