Wrapping our 2019 racing season, we were at the Circuit du Castellet last weekend to capture the tenth annual Dix Mille Tours. Always popular with competitors, it is usually the final race of the Peter Auto series and it was again this year. Whether it is the relative safety of the circuit with its massive run-off areas or the fact that it offers the last chance of the year to race, the 2019 Dix Mille Tours smashed all the previous records with a 350+ strong entry, spread over seven grids. The biggest of all was the oversubscribed Sixties' Endurance field, which saw 91 cars take part in qualifying while only 83 were eventually allowed to start. Further highlights were the CER1 field that boasted three Porsche 917s and a Ferrari 512 S, the Endurance Racing Legends grid that included two Panoz Esperante GTR1s and a mighty Peugeot 908, and the Group C entry that boasted a pair of Peugeot 905s and a Jaguar XJR-14.
Not surprising for the penultimate weekend in October, the weather provided some additional drama. Like the competitors, we braved the conditions to capture this 220-shot gallery, which serves to illustrate our concise report.
