Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2
The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 was an elegant V12 grand tourer designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina. The model's name refers to the single cylinder displacement (365 cc), four overhead camshafts (GT4) and seat configuration (2+2).
Most of the mechanicals, including the 4,390 cc engine, were carried over from its predecessor, the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4. The wheelbase was stretched by 200 mm to 2700 mm. Instrument panel and centre console layout was very similar to the 365 GTC/4 too. Three-box design of the 365 GT4 2+2 was however a clear departure from its fastback predecessor.
In 1976 the GT4 2+2 was replaced by the nearly identical looking Ferrari 400 with larger 4.8-litre engine. The knock-off hub spinners and the triple rear light arrangement are the most easily identifiable features to differentiate the 365 GT4 2+2 model from similarly bodied 400 series.
