In addition to the high-end Ferrari supercars we featured earlier this week, RM Sotheby's online-only Driving Into Summer sale also includes three 1990s icons. One of our all time favourites and the last of the great Lancias is the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 2. It is the ultimate development of the road-going Deltas and was introduced when Lancia had already withdrawn their Group A works team from the World Rally Championship. Although in production for a single year, around 2,500 examples were built. The consigned car was sold new to Japan and has only recently been imported into the United States.
Although in this case for DTM touring car racing, the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II was also built to homologate a Group A racer. Like the Delta, the example on offer this week was sold new to Japan and was more recently shipped to North America.
Another production road that was hugely successful as a Group A racer in the early 1990s was the Nissan Skyline GT-R. It became a legendary machine for so many other reasons and can only be imported into North America for a couple of years. That also happened to the Cherry Red car that is consigned to the RM Sotheby's auction. It boasts some mild modifications and accordingly can be yours for just $45,000 - $55,000.
Bidding on the Delta will close on Friday, while parties interested in the Mercedes-Benz and the Skyline can still place their bids until Saturday.
