This week all eyes were on RM Sotheby's with their online-only European Sale for which the final lots closed last night. It was a success for the Anglo-Canadian company with a 91% sell-through rate with a total result of €19.2 million. Topping the sale was the Porsche 935 we featured last week and sold for €1.3 million. Another impressive result was for this Bugatti Type 57 Gangloff Cabriolet, which was originally shown at the 1939 Geneva Motor Show. Later in its life, it was part of the famous Quattroruote Collection for the better part of five decades. Chassis 57731 was now sold for €770,000.
One half of the sale was dedicated to the Petitjean Collection, which was offered at no reserve. Among the top sellers from this French stable was this Lamborghini Miura. Delivered new to Paris, it spent its entire life in French ownership and was acquired by Marcel Petitjean in 1979. Forming the ideal base for a ground-up restoration, it found its first new owner for over 40 years for just over €700,000.
Porsche have just released the GTS version of the latest generation Cayenne. Whereas the predecessor was powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine, Porsche have reverted back to a V8 for the high performance model. The engine used is the familiar four-litre twin turbo V8 that produces 453bhp. In addition to the conventional Cayenne, the GTS version is now available with the 'Coupé' body-style.
