Bidding for Gooding & Company's second online-only Geared Online auction will open today and will run through to October 31st. Headlining the sale is this superb Maserati A6G/54 2000 Frua Spider. It was the first of nine A6G/54 chassis fitted with the striking Frua body work, and has been owned by a major American Maserati collector since 1999. Beautifully restored, chassis 2180 is estimated to sell for over $2 million.
Also part of the same stable for over two decades is this Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe. It had originally been sold to the United States and was restored during the late 1990s by specialist Jerry Hjeltness. Rarely used since, the 300 SL should change hands for in excess of $1 million.
Powered by a similar direct-injection, straight-six engine is this Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc Cabriolet that has also been consigned to the sale. It has benefitted from a recent 1,800-hour restoration and comes complete with a set of fitted luggage. The 300 Sc has a pre-sale estimate of $750,000 - $950,000.
